## About the Role
Apple is hiring a Software Development Engineer - Test in Hyderabad to build and maintain automated testing solutions for software products and services. The role combines software engineering and quality engineering, with an emphasis on developing robust automation, identifying complex defects, and improving product reliability.
## Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test infrastructure.
- Create automated tests for functional, integration, regression, and system-level validation.
- Develop test tools and utilities using Python, Java, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Analyze test failures, debug issues, and work closely with development engineers to identify root causes.
- Validate APIs, software components, and end-to-end workflows.
- Improve test coverage, reliability, execution speed, and automation efficiency.
- Participate in software design and code reviews with development teams.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and continuous integration workflows.
- Work collaboratively with engineers across the software development lifecycle.
## Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C++, or a similar language.
- Understanding of software testing and test automation principles.
- Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with debugging and troubleshooting software failures.
- Familiarity with APIs, SQL, Linux, Git, and software development practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to design reliable and maintainable automated tests.
## Nice to Have
- Experience developing automation frameworks from scratch.
- Knowledge of REST API and UI automation.
- Experience with CI/CD and continuous integration systems.
- Familiarity with performance or reliability testing.
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, XCTest, or similar automation technologies.
- Understanding of distributed systems and cloud-based applications.
