Software Engineer II — Backend

## About the Role Abnormal Security — a fast-growing US cybersecurity unicorn — is hiring a Backend Software Engineer II for its Bangalore office. You'll build the detection and data infrastructure that protects Fortune 500 companies from email threats and account takeovers. ## Responsibilities - Build and scale backend services that process millions of email signals per day - Design and implement data pipelines for threat detection and behavioral analytics - Collaborate with ML engineers to deploy detection models into production - Own service reliability, performance benchmarks, and on-call rotations - Work in a fast-paced startup environment with significant autonomy ## Requirements - 2–5 years of backend software engineering experience - Strong Python skills; comfortable with high-throughput systems - Experience with AWS services (SQS, S3, Lambda, RDS or similar) - Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts is a plus but not required - Ability to work independently and move fast with good engineering judgment ## Why Join Abnormal Security is one of the fastest-growing cybersecurity companies globally, protecting 15%+ of the Fortune 500.
